How does VENCLEXTA work against AML?

VENCLEXTA is a pill that works differently than other treatments. It binds to a specific protein in your body called BCL-2. This helps restore apoptosis, a process of natural cell death that is disrupted when you have cancer, restoring the body’s natural ability to tell cancer cells to die.

Once this process is restored, your body can begin to kill cancer cells. With fewer cancer cells, there is now room for healthy cells to grow in the bone marrow.
